Sometimes these mountains remind me of our Utah mountains

 

 

Life is good.

This change has been extreemly difficult, but I have learned so much.

We had interviews with President Fortuna this week and though I tried to with-hold, I cried the entire interview, but then I felt 300 times better. I talked to him about how hard this area has been and my relationship with my companion and he told me that this change was for me to come closer to Christ and get to know him better. He reassured me of his trust and confidence in me, and more importantly the Lords trust and confidence in me, and then gave me a blessing. More tears. Seriously my Mission President's the best, so sorry he's not yours!

Changes are next Wednesday and I'm praying to feel content with whatever goes down. I know that companionships and areas are inspired and that God knows what he's doing, so I just need to relax. Chances are I'll stay here in "La Paz" and my companion will be transferred, but we never know.

The Menocal Family has been struggling a lot this week, so if you could all save a special place for them in your prayers, that'd be great. All of our baptismal dates fell through and everyone seemed to change their mind yesterday when we went to visit them, but it's a new week and there are people out there waiting.

I LOVE EVERYONE.

Nine months pregnant or half way done with a mission? WHAT? The latter.

You know you've been in Central America for 9 months when...

You're cold in 60-65 degree weather. (photo attached)

The smell of piss and raw meat being vended in the streets is a breath of fresh air.

You drink milk from a bag

Corn Flakes are a luxury breakfast item.

Cat calls and "I lobe yew babyyy" are heard from every corner.

I'm happy to recieve an egg on my plate for lunch instead of just rice and beans.

AN EGG EVERYONE: AND I HATE EGGS.

And all of this is NORMAL

There's so much more, but that's just what I can think of off the top of my head.

This week has been super hard and super great. We challenged the Menocal family to be baptized and all of them accepted which means in February we'll be baptizing a family of 10 Now here's to hoping I don't get transfered in two weeks. They are amazing though. Gloria and Juan Carlos have been together for 15 years and have eight daughters ranging from 15 to 1. Amazingly I've got their names and ages down. I love them so much. Seriously. Juan Carlos smokes at least a pack a day, but the bishop gave him a blessing and the whole family came to church this week, so miracles do happen and the priesthood is so real.

God is so good. This area, and living with my companion have been a little less than easy, but I know that I need to be here and with her right now.

Thanks for your emails, letters, love and prayers. Despite my lack of writting you all personally, know that I love you more than chewy sprees. (Which are greatly missed... cough cough.)

This ones short because I'm taking time to write my family, but this week was amazing. We went to the temple on Wednesday

and it was an experience NEVER to be forgotten. I finally got to lay my eyes on the new video and I was amazed. So beautiful and so much more emotion. (Also can we talk about how it made me miss Moab?) K great.

I love you all and I love this Gospel. 

Go to the temple, even if it's only outside.

I forgot to tell you all I had to sing in Sacrament Meeting last Sunday. WHAT? Yeah. Abide with me tis even tide. It actually went pretty well. I was super nervous though.

Tuesday was New Years Eve. We helped one of our investigators make tamales and then ate them, then we went to the Bishops house for dinner and ate sooo much food. The bishop's family is super awesome though. Love them. 

The work here is rough and somewhat at a standstill, but we're still here working hard. The Lord has a plan for me, for my companion and for the people of this area.

God is so good. 

The mission is so hard, but so amazing. 

I love all of you. 

Got letters from Tanner, Bayley, and the Dry Creek Stake this week. Thank you all so much.

What did you do this morning?
Welp, I did my laundry, by hand. Lovin' life.

This week was great. Things are finally starting to look up here in La Paz. We actually found a lot of new people to teach this week including two families. I feel like I was really sent to this area to help my companion and strengthen the ward and less actives here. It's been rough these past few weeks, but I'm starting to feel like this really is where I'm supposed to be. The Lord works in mysterious ways. 

Talking to all of my favorite people on this earth on Christmas was probably one of the best days of my life, but hey, let's just spend it together next year. Whatta ya say? 

Christmas was mostly just another day in the mission other than the disgusting amounts of food we ate. Tamales, Torejas, Chicken, Tamales, rice, sandwhiches, tamales, tortillas, tamales. I agree with Niels on this one though. Heaven and Hell for sure. SO MUCH FOOD. 

God is good.
Little by little our companionship is getting better. My companion really is great. 

It's basically January of 2014 so thats nuts. 

We're going to the temple next week on the 8th!!! So pumped.

New companion, New area, New year... (Almost)

 

Its a good thing I have 42 seconds to write. AHHHH

Transfers happened.

I am now in La Paz with Hermana Moran. I¨ll write more next week, but lets just say we have a lot of cleaning up to do from the sisters before. Im excited to have a fresh start even though leaving Talanga was the hardest thing.
